47 Hour Update

I'm setting a goal for myself to complete 55 hours (or finish the drawing..which ever comes first) by the end of June.

Here is an updated photo

And one a little closer up..

Completed drawings that I've done

I was looking at pictures of drawings I've done in the past. I have a few hanging in my home and the others I've given to my mom.

Thought I'd share them here!

This was the first drawing I did. It was for a drawing assignment my Freshman year of high school.

This was my 3rd drawing. I finished it in 2010

4th drawing

5th drawing (I hated this one and ended up giving it to my mom)

When skies are grey..have a beer

Sometimes being my own worst critic can be very..time consuming.

Tonight I started on the sky. Then erased the sky. Then started again.

I am still not satisfied with the way it is turning out. Instead of fretting over it, I've put the drawing away for the night, grabbed a cold beer out of the fridge and am only moments away from curling up on the couch with a book.

Update: I came back a few days later and worked on it for a few hours. I've fixed many of my mistakes and feel much better about it.

One square at a time

Sometimes I feel like I am cheating by taking such a small part of the picture and working on it one.section.at.a.time. I love watching how the whole drawing comes together, little by little.

I'm currently working on a drawing for a dear friend of mine. She had shared a beautiful black and white photo that was taken of her and her dad when she was young. I had just gotten back into drawing and asked her if she would mind if I drew the photo for her. She said she would love for me to!
